Happy solstice and new year!
Last night the two of us celebrated the new year. We lit a fire, did some drumming, joiking and put intentions for the new year to come.
The solstice is the astronomical new year, so for us it makes more sense that the new year begins today.
The winter solstice is the longest night of the year. From now on the days are getting longer. Up until now every day had less and less daylight, and now the sun has turned and from today on every day has more and more time with daylight. Although we wont actually see the sun up here for about another month or so, the days will be somewhat brighter and longer from now on.
We wish that no matter how and when you celebrate new year and winter holidays it brings you happiness and joy.
